Syrian government forces recaptured the famed ancient city of Palmyra today from the ISIS in a major battle. It is reported that after heavy fighting during the night, the Syrian army is in full control of Palmyra -- both the ancient site and the residential neighbourhoods. It is a symbolic victory over the ISIS and it would booster the morale of the Syrian military against the ISIS.
