Papaya and it's Health Benefits
Papaya has many varieties and the fruit has a spherical or pear shape. The flesh of the fruit is orange in color and has delicious sweet taste. I normally eat it plain or make a papaya shake. It has become part of my daily diet.
Papaya has many health benefits, the most common and well known is that it aids in digestion because of it's dietary fiber content. Papaya is low in calories and has no cholesterol. It is a rich source of phyto-nutrients, minerals, and vitamins. It is one of the fruits that is high in Vitamin C. It is also a source of Vitamin A. Papaya is also rich in Vitamin B complex, potassium and calcium.
Papaya also acts as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and is an immune booster. Papaya also helps in controlling heart rate and blood pressure countering the effect of sodium. The leaves and seeds are also being used in traditional medicine. In traditional medicine, the juice of the leaves helps cure dengue and the seeds when applied acts as anti inflammatory, anti parasitic and analgesic and it is use to treat stomachache, and ringworm infections.
Papaya is not only a delicious fruit, but it also has many vitamins and minerals that our body needed.
