After consuming 'prasad' distributed in a religious function at Mitpukuria village in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Tuesday night, many of the devotees soon had stomach pain, loose motion and vomiting. Around 900 people fell ill and started coming to the hospital from the following day. While most of the affected people were discharged from the hospital, conditions of over 100 people are still critical and they have been admitted in hospital. The condition of one of them, a 12-year-old girl, is very critical and she has been put on life support. The district health department has started an investigation.
