Physical Quantities
"Those quantities wchich can be observe and measure are called physical quantities."
For example
Mass of a body.temperature of a body, height length, area, volume, speed, velocity, acceleration, force, momentum etc are all physical quantities
Types
All the physical quantities are divided into two groups.
Base quantities
Derived Quantities
Base quantities
"Those physical quantitieswhich are simple and prominent i.e easy to understand "
OR
"Those physical quantities interms of which all other physical quantities can be defined"
There are seven base physical quantities selected by scientist.
Length
Mass
Time
Temperature
Electric Current
Luminous intensity
Amount of substance.
Derived Physical Quantities.
Those physical quantities which can be obtained by the combination of two or more base physical quantities
Example
Speed, velocity, density, work, force, area, volume, acceleration, momentum, torque etc are all derived physical quantities.
