In this picture taken Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, a car passes through an aqueduct for the city's water supply from alpine springs in Vienna, Austria. The Viennese take it for granted but elsewhere it is rapidly becoming a rare commodity: crystal-clear water drunk straight from the tap. Vienna gets its water supply from alpine springs, some fed by glaciers, transported for over 100 miles without the aid of pumps or other mechanical means. A glass of free Vienna water comes without asking with your cup of Viennese coffee, at least in most establishments.
