Plagiarism is the theft of ideas that people pass off of their own. Identity theft is the theft of someone's identity which they pass off as their own.
For writers, their ideas are their identity. Get what I'm coming out here.
Everything has a chance to get stolen, whether it be well researched posts chalked full of facts, figures, and data, or wacky little posts about a person's personal life.
Stealing a post regarding a person's personal life is like stealing something about their identity. That's their life and their toil, not yours.
It's really not hard to come up with a post. If you just copy from others, it's just a waste of time, both yours and everyone else's.
Plagiarism does in some ways cost you money, although not on the grand scale of full blown identity theft. But it's no less of a victimization and a crime.
Your ideas should come from your heart. To steal them is in a crime. My words might not be the best all of the time but they are my own. Isn't that what matters?
