So it’s been a while since my last blog, I have been thinking about the feature I want to plan to shoot next summer. Originally I said there was a book I wanted to adapt, that’s still true but for the feature next summer I am thinking I may concentrate on an idea I had a while back. It was the idea of 4 short stories all lasting around 20 min each that go together to make a feature, kind of like 4 rooms, VHS and wicked little things.
So the first script I already have the first draft, which is about a guy who over dinner with his wife finally snaps and tries to kill her. But no matter what he does she just wont die? I would say it’s a dark romantic comedy.
All 4 stories will have be the same kind of genera. So far I have an idea for the 2nd and possibly 3rd stories but I have yet to write the script. I am also going to look in to crowd sourcing for this project so will be starting a kick starter as soon as I have a first draft of the whole thing.
Now a shout out to everyone on film annex who would like to get involved. It doesn’t matter what country you live in on how much experience you have had, even if you would just like to have a read of the scrip then please feel free to get in touch with me through here.
So like past films I have done I will update weekly about my progress and decisions with the project so far.
This week was a sad and happy time for me. I sold my Canon 5D Mark II, it was my first camera and I shot many things on it that can be seen right here on film annex. Here is one of my favorites
I had the camera for around 4 years and it was time to move on and upgrade. Now I do have the Red, but that at times can be over kill for some clients, so I decided to upgrade to the Mark III. So far I have only done a little testing but it is a fantastic little bit of kit! As soon as I have something a little bit more ‘Filmy’ I will put it on film annex. However if you want to see the first test I did with it you can head over and check it out on my vimeo page.
So this has got my wanting to really give it a run and test it on a short! So I am thinking of doing something quite small and just using the 5D. So I will keep you guys updated with that.
Again if you would like to be involved with anything I have talked about then please get in touch.
