NEW YORK - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived here on Saturday to participate in the 70th annual session of the UN General Assembly.

The prime minister - who arrived here in late afternoon - will stay at the Waldorf Astoria, the same hotel where his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi is staying. Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to address the high-level summit meeting on September 27.

The two leaders are also  scheduled to attend the UN Peacekeeping Summit. Prime Minister Sharif will address the annual debate of the UN General Assembly on September 30.
