The Indian Premier League is amongst the most coveted T20 leagues in the world. The 7 seasons old Indian mega T20 feasta takes place every year for a two month period of non-stop entertainment and drama. The 7th edition of the IPL contained more drama than any other previous edition.
The 27th match of IPL 7, played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians brought something before fans, that they would never forget. Fights and disputes on the cricket pitch are never too pretty to the eye. During the 17th over whilst the Mumbai Indians were batting, a massive fight broke out between Royal Challengers’ bowler Mitchell Starc and West Indies power house Kieron Pollard.
The two were noticed having a go at each other ever since Starc came onto bowl Pollard. The conversation went from gestures to some heated exchange of words after Starc’s 4th delivery to Pollard. Starc bowled a brilliant bouncer that Pollard missed. The Aussie fast bowler than gestured towards Pollard who gestured back in not very pretty fashion.
As Starc came to ball the 5th delivery, Pollard acted as if he was distracted by the surroundings, and moved away without facing the delivery. Despite Pollard moving away, Starc still bowled the delivery, which immensely angered the West Indian, who in a horrible reaction, threw the bat in the direction of Starc. But fortunately, the ball didn’t leave Pollard’s hands with force, and landed close to him.
Challengers’ captain Virat Kohli immediately walked towards the umpire to complain about Pollard’s behavior, and so did Pollard himself. The matter was cooled down by the umpires and the match continued. Pollard hit Starc 6 runs off the last two deliveries
