Today Mobile phones and the Networks which help phones to communicate are really important in our lives, because of these Cellular networks our phones can communicate. We people don’t actually know how they work and the things which help them work. According to Larry Gross(2002) Wireless portable cellular phones are one of the biggest hits of the post divestiture period. Although wireless phones existed as far back as the 1920’s they were cumbersome and expensive and did not catch on general public. Today Cell phones are can be easily bought by the public, in-fact in 2012 there are about 103 million Filipinos who are using cell phones from an article in Wikipedia.
So what is a cellular network? According to Wikipedia, cellular network or mobile network is a wireless network distributed over land areas called cells, each served by at least one fixed-location transceiver, known as a cell site or base station. In a cellular network, each cell uses a different set of frequencies from neighboring cells, to avoid interference and provide guaranteed bandwidth within each cell. Major telecommunications providers have deployed voice and data cellular networks over most of the inhabited land area of the Earth. This allows mobile phones and mobile computing devices to be connected to the public switched telephone network and public Internet.
