Pronking (also: stotting) is an acrobatic display of jumps that signals vigor and strength to predators, who will think twice going after an antilope in such good shape, at least that's the idea.

Just as "springbok" comes from Dutch (Afrikaans) for jumping-male-antilope, "pronking" comes from the same language, meaning boasting.
