Public holiday on Holi in Pakistan's Sindh province.

Pakistan's Sindh province has declared a public holiday on March 24 to mark the occasion of Holi - a religious festival of the Hindu community. Formerly only the Hindu community was given a holiday on Holi in Sindh. But as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Ramesh Kumar Vankwani moved a resolution to declare Holi, Diwali and Easter as holidays for minorities, the National Assembly (NA) adopted a resolution to declare national holidays for the three auspicious occasions of the minorities. This is the first time that Holi has been declared a public holiday anywhere in Pakistan. The announcement was made by the provincial government on Saturday.
