Putik.
Try to picture our farmers na maarte, takot mabilad sa araw, at takot maputikan o marumihan. Try to imagine what would have happened if they weren't hardworking and dedicated in farming. Do you really think we could achieve a civilized society like what we have now? Ika nga nila, "farming is not just a job, it's a way of life". Farmers have given us so much; they have sacrificed a lot to provide us with our basic needs and now, we live in the comfort of having these necessities.
"To forget how to dig the Earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves."
~Mahatma Gandhi
Agriculture is the backbone of civilization in our society. Most of the things that we have right now come from the agricultural sector (e.g. food, shelter, clothing, etc.). Without it, there would be no future for us (for real). It's sad to think that the agricultural potential of the Philippines is not optimally utilized and that farmers, actually, do not benefit much from the work of their hands and do really suffer from the issues or problems concerning farming. So, let us promote and give much importance to agriculture. Let's help our farmers and our society. Agriculture is the key.
