How do you create the perfect feel-good, fun indie-pop duo? You can add the ingredients that consist of California girl Marisa Duchowny, and mix it with New York built-in Neill MacCallum. This group of indie-pop singers call themselves “The Rabbit and the Hare”.
One day, in ancient history, Neill was looking for a female multi-instrumentalist that he can bond and partner up with. And that’s exactly what he did: he found the perfect match, and so Batman got the Robin he needed. They met in New York, right in Central Park and instantly found out their voices went together like peanut butter and jelly. Marisa just moved to NY two years ago, and has been enjoying writing music since youth! Same goes for Neill. They are a flawless duo. And they are gradually beginning to shape a place for them in New York music community. They work hard to express their unique blend on folk-pop music, and in return they get positive feedback from the community. They didn’t yet figure out exactly what separates them from everyone else (according to an interview), but they think they have strengths in their lyrics, driven by piano grooves. Plus, it’s not every day you see a female and male duo work together!
Not too long, they have released their debut 1st official album, “Rabbit and the Hare”, and following the release came the music video for the track “Dona Dona”, now a favorite in the album, alongside the last track of the album, “Magic Magic”. Stay tuned on them, because they are stepping it up in the music industry.
The two key vocalists are Neil MacCallum, who is also the main guitarist, and Marisa Duchowney, who is also the main percussionist. Those aren’t the only instruments displayed; Matt Musty also plays the drums, Danielle Merlis controls the cello and piano, William Salwen is on the bass, and Nick Bockrath finishes it off with the 2nd guitar.
