He is regaining the portfolio after having been cleared in 2014 Model Town incident in which more than a dozen supporters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were killed by police.

The then law minister, Rana Sanaullah, known as the de facto chief minister, justified the police action as legal. However, he was removed from office by Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif.

In the swearing in ceremony, reports said, Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha will take oath as provincial Finance Minister since Shahbaz Sharif has decided to expand his cabinet.  –
