This past week I received a “Staff Pick" on my short-film "Man’s Best Friend." After reading the award email I had a grin that stretched from ear to ear and started jumping around my room. A “Staff-pick” was something that I could only dream of receiving.
I also received an email from the Huffington Post who wanted to run my video on their online blog (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/03/mans-best-friend-video-chris-neal_n_3375714.html?utm_hp_ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false)
That was when things blew up.
A little later I was approached by the daily mail to post my video (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2335590/Dog-owner-makes-emotional-short-film-having-beloved-pet-Griffey-difficulty-standing-up.html).
And another article has been written here: http://www.quarkmagazine.com/watch-more-shorts-mans-best-friend-will-ruin-your-whole-day/
I even noticed the actor Sinbad retweeted the video during the excitement.
I am humbled by the response that has been had over the video about Griffey.
After 80k plays, 100+ comments, and 1000+ likes the excitement seems to be dying down a bit; but I’m excited about the exposure and the chance for my new work to be seen by more people.
I will post about my initial process in trying to get exposure for my short-film soon!
