Documentary & Experimental Film Center (DEFC) organizes "Cinema Vérité"
Iran International Documentary Film Festival, on 15-19 Oct 2008 in Tehran, Iran.
The festival tries to express the relationship between reality and truth though documentary films.

Iran documentary Fund-IDF (supporting the production of high-quality, creative documentaries all around the world, the maximum contribution for production and post-production is Euros 20.000)
I. International Competition
The international competition consists of two sections: the films and videos up to 60 minutes, the films and videos longer than 60 minutes.
The eligible documentaries:
- Produced after January 2006
- All lengths, formats and subjects.
II. Non-competitive section
All the documentaries in all lengths, formats, and subjects produced before 2006 are eligible to participate in "Tribute, Retrospective or Panorama" which is non-competitive sections.
III. Doc Market
Doc market is reserved to Iranian documentaries, applied for the festival.Doc Market offers the international distributors ,buyers, Festival and TV representatives a good opportunity to view recent Iranian documentaries.
IV. Iran documentary Fund (IDF)
Established by Documentary & Experimental Film Center (DEFC), Iran Documentary Fund (IDF) supports the production of high-quality, creative documentaries all around the world.
Iranian and international documentary directors and producers are eligible to apply for IDF.
IDF contributes the selected projects in production or post-production.
Projects without a producer won’t be accepted.
IDF’s jury will judge each project on its own merits.
The maximum contribution for production and post-production is Euros 20.000

Applications must be accompanied by following articles, and sent to:
idf@irandocfest.ir, before June 1st, 2008
1- A synopsis (one page)
2- A treatment (two pages)
3- A director’s statement (motivation) (one page)
4- A research summary (three pages)
5- A script (4 pages)
6- A detailed budget plan and shooting schedule
7- A financial plan and agreement letter(s) of financer(s).
8- A filmography and biography of the director (one page)
9- A filmography and biography of the producer (one page)
10- A DVD of previous work(s) of director and producer
11- A demand letter for contribution singed by director and producer
• Projects with rush sample or rough cut have the priority.
• The deadline for submitting the applications to IDF is.
Persian Carpets IDF and “Iran National Carpet Center” support documentary projects about Persian Carpets up to Euros 20.000.
