Forty years ago Bob Macauley, a Connecticut businessman, chartered a plane and helped save the lives of orphan children who had survived a plane crash during the evacuation in the last days of the Vietnam war. “Operation Babylift” gave rise to AmeriCares, a global organization dedicated to saving lives and restoring health.
