Well, some people around the world especially in Great Britain they called this day as Guy Fawkes day or Bon Fire Night or Fireworks Night or something like that. Who is this guy named Guy Fawkes, according to wiki this guys is one of the persons who originates the plot to kill the protestant King James of England and wanted to replace him with a catholic head of state, a person with a 10 year military experienced fighting in the Spanish Netherlands in suppression of the Dutch Revolt. He was caught, the plot was revealed by an anonymous letter. He was discovered with 36 barrels of gun powder enough to blow up the House of the Lord and turn to rubble. Guy Fawkes Night is not solely a British celebration. The tradition was also established in the British colonies by the early American settlers and actively pursued in the New England States under the name of "Pope Day" as late as the Eighteenth Century.
