During the course of my second semester of my second year at University I have been asked to seek out and obtain work experience with third year's. So I messaged and messaged until I finally started to build up a healthy amount of hours that wouldn't be too much that I wouldn't be able to fit it in but was enough to gain some valuable experience.
I was asked to fill the position of Camera on Matt Amison's shoot, a friend of mine who I'd previously refused a very generous offer on his last shoot due to lack of time and confidence. I felt that this semester I was more ready and assure of myself so I decided to give it my best shot.
I was nervous about using the C100 as I'd hadn't much experience using one on a shoot but as I began operating it I quickly became comfortable with it's layout and found it's aesthetics to feel much like a DSLR. This put me more at ease and allowed me to overcome my nerves allowing for a more creative input and focused driven attitude towards the rest of the shoot.
Looking back at some of the shots I was very pleased with the use of a lampshade to add some warmth and depth to his location as he was going for a child's bedroom setting.
I am now much more confident for the rest of my shoots with the year above.
