What does this word actually mean? I hear it a lot. I get a lot of people demanding this from me. However, I do not feel that these people who are demanding my respect have any respect for themselves, or anyone else. Do these people even know what the word means?

I do not attend college to earn anyone's respect. I most certainly am not going to automatically respect someone because they went to college. I tend to treat others as they treat me. This might not be a proper way of handling life in most situations, but this is the only way I know how to handle life.

Treat others as you wish to be treated. I take this saying quite seriously. I think it might be one of the main reasons I treat others as thy treat me. I think if they treat me with a lack of respect then they do not want any respect from me. The easiest way to earn someone's respect is not to go to college, it is not to become wealthy at all, the easiest way to earn someone's respect is to respect them.
