Dave Meltzer mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that things are not going so well for Rey Mysterio in AAA and Lucha Underground.

Meltzer said that the two promotions were hoping that Mysterio and Alberto Del Riowould be hyge stars for them. However, Del Rio left the two promotions to return to WWE. Mysterio has said in multiple interviews that he is also willing to go back to WWE.

Additionally, ProWrestlingSheet reports that Mysterio and AAA are in a contract dispute over owed money. This would explain why Mysterio has not worked any AAA shows recently.
