Noni Compound Kills 92% of Breast Cancer Cells in Vitro: Damnacanthal, a compound found both in the fruit and roots of the noni plant was shown to kill 92% of human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) in vitro after 72 hours of treatment. The natural extract also inhibited growth of the cancer cells by up to 98% - all at very low concentrations. Noni is a well-known super food which can stimulate the immune system, is a natural antiviral, antibacterial (antibiotic), anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and even has pain-relieving properties. Noni extracts have been shown to be active against lung cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer and others in lab studies. The science behind non fruit is so convincing that is has even been used in four clinical trials: to test its safety at high doses, for fighting cancer, improving antioxidant status in smokers, and reducing metabolic syndrome in overweight and obese adults. Interestingly, the trial for safety found not only that drinking up to 750 ml of noni juice daily was safe, but also that those drinking noni juice seemed to experience better overall health (less adverse events) than the non-noni juice drinkers. In another trial, smokers drinking from 1 to 4 ounces of noni juice daily also experienced a marked reduction (up to 49%) of damaged DNA (DNA adducts), thus apparently reducing their risk for cancer.
