Bantamweight UFC women’s champion, Ronda Rousey will be the first MMA athlete to be featured as a cover model for Sports Illustrated.
The UFC today announced the Rousey-fronted magazine, which hits stands on Wednesday. It is the first MMA cover story since 2007, The storied sports an action shot profiling the sport’s rise.
The magazine’s release will come one day after Rousey’s biography My Fight-Your Fight goes on sale today in stores and online.
She became the first woman to headline a pay-per-view in February 2013 with UFC 157. And also It has been a busy year for Rousey.
In February, she headlined UFC 184 in Los Angeles and submitted Cat Zingano in 14 seconds. The win was her second straight in record-setting fashion for a title fight.
