Rotation of Our Antagonist

Posted on at

This is the original antagonist in my story. An unnamed grouchy englishman who's only pleasure is derived from passively aggressively torturing his wife's cat.

This turn around I did tonight. It took a bit to nail the original design.

I had drawn him so much in school that it was easy to to do a pose or expression in a few minutes. This took a little longer.

I really enjoyed drawing him because it allowed me to break away from the Disney style structure we had been studying. I wanted to do a hybrid of a flat cartoony design and something with 'rotationability'. By that I mean, a design that's nice from different angles, not just from one side (or from one pose).

In school we had to do a walk cycle and I repurposed this guy as a clown after I had to nix him from the film. I had a great time with the cycle. I'll see if I can find it and put it up.

Let me know what you think in the comments!
