While on the Ellen Degeneres television show last week, women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey claims she is the highest paid fighter on the UFC roster. It was not stated if her claim was based purely on fight purse or if she is including sponsorships, pay-per-view or other financial resources.
Rousey's last disclosed fight purse for her 14 second submission of Cat Zingano at UFC 184 in February was $130,000. That is well below other fighters. Outside financial variables undoubtedly make up a large portion of her pay. A cut of pay-per-view sales, the most recent being her 34 second technical of Brazilian Bethe Correia in August reportedly sold 900,000 pay-per-view units. Her income from that fight purse was definitely significant.
