As the tigers are showing a new brand of cricket to the world, young guns like Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman can be regarded as that brand ambassador of the new arena of cricket for Bangladesh.
Mustafizur Rahman might stolen the show with his utmost devastation upon the mighty Indian batting line up, it is Sabbir Rahman who caught in the eye sight of Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Known as the most terrific finisher of the game, Mahendra privately appreciated the finishing approach of Bangladesh late middle order batsman Sabbir Rahman.
Sabbir Rahman uttered the incident with genuine excitement, “During the practice sessions before the third and final match of the series, Dhoni called me and expressed that he likes my attitude and approach of batting.”
It wasn’t end of it, Mahendra also advised him to try to finish matches as much as possible. “Receiving such appreciations from a great cricketer of the time meant something special for me. It enhance my confidence” – an exuberant Sabbir said.
The blue eyed hard hitter of Bangladesh told that not only Dhoni but also Hathurusingha suggested him to try to finish things off as much as possible. Showing the positivity in his character, Sabbir said, “I love to play positive and fearless cricket. Our coach Chandika also advised me to try to finish the matches as much as I can.”
“After the world cup, we were eagerly waiting for the series against India and we have showed the world what we can do. Now we are waiting for the South Africans” – said Sabbir in a confident tone.
But the stylish batsman does not want to set any targets as his only target is to serve the purpose of the team whatever it might be at the desired moment.
