Sami is the Man of the Match:

Sami is the Man of the Match: I only want to get better with my performances. I'm not trying anything extra, just sticking to the basics and getting good help from the team management. My passion is still strong. Terrific win for us and we'd want to carry the momentum forward.

Bopara: Clearly not enough runs on the board and that's been the feature of our team through the tournament. Not much the bowlers can do then and adds a lot of pressure to the middle order. We haven't put our performances together. You have to play straight as much as possible on such pitches and then go cross-batted later on. Unfortunately we played a lot of cross-batted shots but that's T20 for you.

Misbah: Right on the money from the start and the bowlers did the job. It was ideal scenario for us to chase it down with dew coming into play in the second innings. In such pressure games you need wicket-taking bowlers and they bowled well, allowed me to keep aggressive fields. I think we are peaking at the right time and everything is right on track.

10.57pm A comprehensive win for Islamabad United and the credit goes to their bowlers for that, for restricting Karachi Kings to only 111 for 9. They made the work for their batsmen so much easier. Smith, Sharjeel and Haddin came all guns blazing for the target and two of them got fifties too. But it was Mohammad Sami's spell of 4-0-8-5 that had dismantled Karachi earlier. Karachi are hence knocked out and Islamabad United will play Peshawar Zalmi tomorrow in a kind of a semi-final.

Haddin: We had been building up for a result like this and brilliant performance by our bowlers. Sami has been brilliant throughout the tournament and it's a just reward for all the work he's done. We want to get better with what we did tonight.

14.2
Sohail Khan to Smith, FOUR, the short balls continue, Smith's pulls continue and it's smacked to the midwicket boundary for a four which are the winning runs! Also brings up Smith's fifty
14.1
Sohail Khan to Haddin, 1 run, opens up his stance, pulls a short ball and it goes high but falls well short of long-on
