Serbia FM- Not Recognize Gains of “Ethnic Cleansing”, by Ambassador mo

Posted on at

“Unilateral moves to impose outcomes to ethnic and territorial disputes are not legitimized,” Serbia’s Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic implores the UN Security Council during the debate on Kosovo. Serbia does not and shall not recognize the independence of Kosovo which broke away from it in 2008, according to the Serbian Foreign Minister (TOP PHOTO): “I would like to once again reaffirm my government’s position on Pristina’s attempt at unilateral secession from Serbia. We do not and we shall not recognize it explicitly or implicitly. This is mandated by the democratic will of our people and enshrined in our constitution. A substantial majority of UN member states and of those seated under the Security Council continue to respect Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” (FILM REPORT on Latest Kosovo Debate at UNSC - diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/movie/kosovo-no-partitionterritorial-adjustments/28409 ) Application to Bosnia & Herzegovina: The principles outlined above would seem to be contradicted at least in part by Belgrade under Slobodan Milosevic and current Belgrade authorities: • Serbia’s Foreign Ministry in May 2011 expressed its support for “Republika Srpska” - entity within the sovereign Bosnia & Herzegovina (“BiH”) - to hold referendum on effective seccession from BiH. See Statement of Serbia’s UN Ambassador Feodor Starcevic (MIDDLE PHOTO) to UN Security Council – diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/movie/serbia-bosnia-crisisun-security-council/26936 • Republika Srpska has been defined by “unilateral” application of ethnic criteria and what has been ruled by international courts as well as UN forums as ethnic cleansing and genocide. Serbia’s direct culpability in such has also been established by judgment and UN resolution, as well as countless independent rapporteurs and reports. Belgrade’s implorations would carry more weight if the principles presumably applicable were applied to consistently – when it may or may not be convenient to Serbia’s territorial claims and/or aspirations – from Kosovo to BiH. (In the 1990’s as Ambassador of BiH, I implored the UN Security Council – BOTTOM PHOTOs - to observe the same principles now presumably advanced by Foreign Minister Jeremic, and Belgrade then failed to take heed).
