Shahid Kapoor is an Indian film actor, who is popular in bollywood. Shahid has started his career by appearing in music videos and advertisements. He made his Bollywood debut with "Ishq Vishk" in 2003 which made him won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

He had his first major commercial success with Sooraj R. Barjatya's 'Vivah'. Later, he was nominated in Filmfare Best Actor Award category for Jab We Met (2007) and Kaminey (2009). He has also won the Best Actor award for his brilliant performance in Haider and 60th Filmfare Awards for Best Actor Male. He was last seen in the flick Shandaar opposite Alia Bhatt.

Biography
Shahid Kapoor was born on February 25, 1981 to Pankaj Kapoor and actress-cum-classical dancer Neelima Azeem. He has done his schooling from Gyaan Bharathi, Delhi until 4th grade and then shifted to Raajhans Vidyalaya, Mumbai. He is a well trained dancer at Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts (SDIPA). Shahid Kapoor was also seen as a background dancer in the movie "Taal". Later he did few commercials like Pepsi and appeared in a music video "Aankhon Me Tera Hi Chehra" by the Aryans alongwith Hrishita Bhatt.

As per the sources, the Shaandaar actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to replace Sushant Singh Rajput in Mohit Suri's Half Girlfriend. Previously its heard that Arjun Kapoor replacing Sushant in the film but now the talk are about Shahid's entry in the film. Reports also said that, "Shahid was to play the Bihari loverboy. Then Shahid's Shaandaar bombed and the film's producers went to Sushant. Unfortunately for them, he had already given away those dates to Dinesh Vijan for his directorial debut". Further added, "Shahid is now back in the project. It seems the role was destined for him".

Shahid Kapoor got married to Mira Rajput on July 7, 2015. The couple had an intimate marriage ceremony in presence of just close family and the mahurat for the wedding was 11am. The reception was grand event that has 500 odd guests. Shahid has also hosted a starry reception for his industry friends in Mumbai on July 12, 2015.

About Mira he said, "Mira was not part of my social circuit either. But I don't close myself to an anything new. It doesn't matter where or how two people meet. What matters is if two people connect. And I got that feeling. Sometime back, I used to tell myself, "I have been in relationships with celebrities, but maybe, it might be interesting to be with someone who isn't a celebrity." And one year later, I got married to someone who is a normal girl."

Shahid Kapoor's parents were divorced, when he was 3 years old. He continued living with his mother and maternal grandparents in Press Enclave, Saket in Delhi. He shares a cordial relationship with his father and stepmother Supriya Pathak. Kapoor has three half siblings, a sister named Sanah Kapoor and brothers, Ishaan Khattar and Ruhaan Kapoor. Ishaan has acted with him in the movie Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi (2005). His maternal grandfather Anwar Azeem, was an eminent Marxist journalist and author from Bihar. His great great grandfather was a film director, screenwriter, Urdu novelist and journalist Khwaja Ahmad Abbas more popularly known as K.A. Abbas.

In Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 8
Shahid Kapoor was seen as one of the judge in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Reloaded which aired on Colors. He was seen alongwith choreographer Ganesh Hegde, Malaika Arora Khan, Karan Johar and Lauren Gottlieb. The show was hosted by Manish Paul and Faisal Khan was the winner.

Shahid Kapoor distinguishes himself as a vegetarian. He is legally Khattar as he uses his step father's Rajesh Khattar's surname, which he has written on all important legal documents. When he was a young child, his mother married Rajesh Khattar. Though Rajesh and his mother are now divorced, Kapoor has adopted the surname to remember the man who raised him.
