As a refugee living away from motherland, each Afghan has that love and thirst to visit their country wherever they live, in my case it was Pakistan, during our summer holidays like other students from our class go to their own villages within Pakistan, my family used to spend majority of our summer vocations in Kabul Afghanistan.
Our home is located at Shahr-e-Now Kabul, I have witnessed this place when I was in 1st standard "Taliban Regime", it was a simple home with 3-4 rooms and a big garden outside with lots of pigeons. Kabul was a peaceful city with ruins and destroyed infra-structure left by our leaders from different parties. We loved to visit our relatives, had treat parties and picnics specially on Fridays. For three to four years this routine remained.
Coming to Shahr-e-now part, luckily this part of the city has always been a beautiful place, full of lights and probably the only place where you can stay till midnight (Taliban Regime). After the US invasion, this place has been the center of true change, with lots of beautiful places to visit such as shopping malls, restaurants, apartments, bowling zones, parks and Cafes all decorated with colorful lights but most importantly its a safe and peaceful place. Unlike 2009-10, where lots of constructions and work on projects that were a serious issue to health because of the mini sand storms, but now majority of the construction is over, projects have been completed, Shahr-e-now, today is a one of the most beautiful places in Afghanistan.
