Film Annex is supporting We Believe in Balloons and its campaign to share 10,000 pink balloons with the citizens of Kabul, Afghanistan. The collaboration started when Film Annex met with Yazmany Arboleda, the artist behind the project. Impressed by his work, creativity and vision, Film Annex's Founder, Francesco Rulli, decided to take part in his campaign.
Yazmany Arboleda launched We Believe in Balloons with over one hundred Afghan artists and volunteers with the goal to unite people from all around the world around art in the streets of Kabul. Each balloon purchased, along with a personal message inside, will be handed to the citizens of Kabul as they commute to work in the morning.
To support the cause, Film Annex is giving its first 1,000 members who connect to the We Believe in Balloons website, a code to buy one balloon and share a message with a citizen of Kabul. Visit the website and use the code PINKannex to participate in the campaign.
If you are in New York on May 6, join the 10,000 Balloons Pop Up, a global art project presented by Imagination in Space and Ludlow Studios. About the collaboration with Film Annex, Yazmany Arboleda says, “We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with the Film Annex community. Their work to empower women throughout Afghanistan by giving them the skills and opportunity to lead better lives is paramount. By teaching women to create video content they are giving them the tools to express their creativity and this very much falls in line with the mission of the We Believe In Balloons campaign. Our end goal is to create space for self-expression through the arts in Kabul and throughout Afghanistan.”
