Few minutes before midnight just before flight 5J547 touched down at the worlds number one airport -- Changi International Airport, made me realize I was already in Singapore upon seeing one of city's icon that stood amidst the city lights the Asia's Largest Ferris Wheel or the Largest Observation Wheel-- Singapore Flyer. But seeing the Giant Wheel at a distance from where it situated was more awesome.

Standing at 165 meters or 541 feet high from the ground is Singapore's most sought attraction. Ranked second as the World's Tallest Ferris Wheel next to High Roller in Las Vegas. Singapore Flyer was once hailed as the World's Tallest Ferris Wheel from the time it officially opened until the birth of High Roller on March 31, 2014. The initial rotation of the wheel was in a counter-clockwise motion but a reversion was made on the 4th of August 2008 as per the advice of Feng Shui masters to reverse it in a clockwise direction.

Outboard of the rim of the wheel structure is where the 28 air-conditioned capsules of the Singapore Flyer are mounted in an unobstructed view. It can hold for up to 28 passengers in each capsule so all in all it has a seating capacity of 784. The capsule has a floor area of 26 m2 or 280 square feet or up to five wheelchairs and 15 other visitors. Just a heads up, if you are traveling with a Person With Disability (PWD), make sure to have an advance booking for the use of the Singapore Flyer Capsule. In that way, they can prepare and assist you on the day of your scheduled ride.
Ramps, lifts, parking lots and handicapped toilets are all provided for people with disabilities.

We were heading to the DuckTours as we pass by Singapore Flyer. Riding Asia's largest Ferris Wheel was not in our itinerary mainly because it will burn a hole in my brother's pocket. Passing by beneath the giant wheel gave me an up-close view and an opportunity to have a snap of one of the capsules while in motion with the family of six inside the capsule. So spacious that even kid and kid at heart can run around the capsule.

The photo above will give you an idea of how spacious the Singapore Flyer Capsule is. A fully air-conditioned cabin encased in acrylic glass giving you an unobstructed view of the breathtaking scenery of Singapore for a 30-minute ride rotation. Steel benches are attached to the cabin floor for you to sit back and relax your numbing legs.
THE BEST TIME TO TAKE A RIDE ON THE SINGAPORE FLYER

The best time to take a ride into Asia's largest Ferris wheel is at dusk until nighttime. As this photo taken by my niece Nicole Yu, the two conservatories were shown the Cloud Forest at the left, three clusters of Supertree behind the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome at the right. Such a mesmerizing sight to behold.

END OF RIDE
Not being able to experience this ride made me feel saddened looking at the videos that I shared. If ever I get the chance to ride Asia's Largest Ferris Wheel I will definitely choose before dusk so I can have a glimpse of the two-time schedules. Watching the night ride video captivates my eagerness to shell out a little from my pocket just to experience the ride at least once in my life. It's first on my list for my third visit to Singapore, hopefully, it will be so soon.
