Siopao Asado

INGREDIENTS:

For the filling: 
  • 1 kilo of ground lean pork
  •  ½ cup soy sauce
  •  3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  •  2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
For the dough: 
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  •  2 tablespoons dry yeast
  • 1 egg

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a preheated pan with oil, sauté garlic and onion
  2. Add pork. Stir well until well cooked
  3. Add oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper and ¼ cup water. Stir from time to time and simmer
  4. Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to mixture. Wait until the sauce thickens, remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Get a big bowl and mix flour, yeast, salt and a bit of sugar
  6. On a baking pan, pour milk, water, butter and heat until butter melts
  7. Beat the egg and pour into the flour mixture
  8. Pour milk mixture onto the flour mixture until dough is formed
  9. Knead dough and wait for 30 minutes until it rises
  10. Cut dough into equal pieces and flatten each piece with a bottle or rolling pin
  11. Place a tablespoon of filling on each flattened dough and seal
  12. Put dough with fillings in a grease-smeared pan with wax paper and put into steamer for 15 minutes
