The 79-year-old Greenwood resident has social in the news dedicated her career to making life better and more manageable for Johnson County’s older adults. An award honoring senior volunteers has been named after her, and Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers declared June 28 “Betty Davis Day” for her work.

“You find yourself counseling with them. I don’t solve their problems for them, I just help them to find the solutions,” Davis said. “That’s not something I’m hired to do, it’s just something that comes with the job.”
