As we go further on this topic, it worth to narrate some more verses of the Holy “Qur an” on the issue:
“Then we said: “O Adam, verily, this (Satan) is an enemy To thee and they wife: So let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery”.
“There is therein (enough provisions) For thee not to go hungry Nor to go naked”:
“Nor to suffer from thirst, Nor from the sun’s heat”.
“But satan whispered evil to him: he said, O Adam! Shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity And to a kingdom that never decays”?
“In the result, they both Ate of the tree, and their nakedness appeared to him: They began to sew Together for their covering, Leaves from the Garden. Thus did Adam disobey His Lord, and allow himself to be naked.
“But his Lord chose him (for his grace), He turned to him, and gave him guidance”.
“He said: get ye down, Both of you all together, From the Garden, with enmity one to another: but if, As is sure, there comes to you Guidance from Me, Whose over follows My Guidance, will not lose his way, nor fall into misery”. (117, 118, 119, 120, 121, 122 and 123 from “Sura:20)”[1]
The story of “Adam” and “Hawa” has been mentioned in another “Surah” of the Holy Quran as follows:
“We said: “O Adam! Dwell thou And they wife in the Garden, And eat of the boutiful things therein As (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression”.
“Then did Satan make them slip from the (Garden), and get them out of the state (of facility) in which they had been. We said: Get ye down, (all ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place And you means of livelihood For a time”.
“Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspirations, and his Lord turned towards him; for He is oft returning, Most Merciful. (2: 35, 36, 37)”.[1]
I don’t think any other religion in the world can have any such resemblance with Islam, regarding the status of woman. Neither western people who claim to be religious, woman’s wise right giver in the world, nor eastern (Russian, China, East Germany and etc) majority of whom are communists, can be compared with Islam. The situation of woman in Communist countries is even worse than that in the western countries. We can take great communist country Russia as an example, in which the woman is not a happy human being, because they don’t have equal rights as the men have. She is not happy and comfortable there and her status is not fortunate and important one. She is to work as much hard work as the men do, but get less wages comparing with men’s wages.
According to Hinduism principle of life, a woman has not the right for education. They think woman is a fool being since very long ages. From the very long ages, the women are struggling to get their level position in the society. They gave many sacrifices, but could not get even their basic rights or what they wanted to have. But as I know, if they despite of so much useless struggle and sacrifices the way they have done so far, faced Islam and embraced it, would have by now obtained all their rights which a muslim woman has to have been given by Islam to her. To get the basic rights, western woman has lost lots of their natural rights and values. They made a lot of struggle to make themselves like other human beings who have gotten a human soul.
“Modern woman reached her present position by force, and not through natural process or natural consent or Devine teachings. She had to force her way, and shortage of man power during wars, pressure of economic needs and requirements of industrial development forced woman to get out of her home to work, to learn, to struggle for her livelihood, to appear as an equal to man, to run her race in the course of life side by side with him. She was forced by circumstances in turn she forced herself through and acquired her new status”.[1]
If we want to compare the status of woman in Islam with her status in other religions, there is many differences among them. Woman in Islam has a very high status but unfortunately and due to circumstances, majority of Muslims do not study Islam deeply or most of them are not educated and there fore along with non educated Muslims, the right teachings of Islam is not understood by the people of the world, even by women all over the world. The status of woman in Islam has been misunderstood by the people and they have wrong ideas about it. That is the reason for the modern woman’s struggle everywhere in the world for getting her level position in the society.
The Holy Quran has a very sweet saying concerning to the topic:
“it is He who created you from a single person, Adam made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light Burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to their Lord, (saying). If thou givest us A good by child we vow we shall (ever) be grateful”. (7:189)
