In the last couple of weeks, I have been battered by work, felt like I have been deprived to do with the things that I love, my spirit went down, and confidence got drained. How can someone like me with very positive outlook in life can be exposed to things that can rip off her heart and soul? I am not an exempted with the rule of life, I have been in worst, I know I can get through with this.
During those down times, my day will always start with music, well, and coffee too of course. I didn’t write anything, instead I listen to some songs that I made as my playlist on Spotify. As always, the beat, rhythm and lyrics get through my heart and soul as I let myself drowned to these songs. Songs that somehow written for those who are going through the rainy dance, now I get to dance in the rain as I listen to my playlist.
But let me tell you something about playlist.
What is a play list?

A play list of is a list of recordings, or organized list of music. It can be mixtures of songs from different genre, or the same decade, or same artist.
When I subscribe to Spotify, I made some play list that I play when every time I wanted to listen to each songs, depends with my mood. As of now, I have made 7 play lists. But this past few days, I have been listening to this play list, to keep me up, not just physically, but at the same time, mental and emotional aspect too. My “Lift me up” play list.
So what are on my playlist?
My uplifting songs play list.
These ten songs are from different decades, some were old, some are new, some may not be familiar to you. As I list them down, I will also be telling you a part of the song that gave me that “wake up” and made me get up and look up to the sky again. Now here are they.
1. “(It’s gonna be) Okay”. This is sung by The Piano Guys. One thing I love with this group is that, they always lift my spirit, even if it is their cover of a famous song or their own. And the reason why I love this group of musicians.
The song has been the best to listen before I go to sleep. It is like a friend, reassuring me that tomorrow will be okay, that it will be much better than what I got today.
Doubt is a broken record that's play inside my head.
I try it to turn it down, but I can't quite drown it out
I'm tortured every day, these never ending worries, pulling on my sleeves.”
The lyrics got the exact picture of what I am going through and as the song is playing, the part that says “It’s gonna be okay” is being sung more that the hardship that I am experiencing, meaning, I will surely be okay, definitely.

2. “Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. The song was originally sung by Judy Garland in the “Wizard of Oz”, but there is this beat about Israel’s version that makes me tap my feet and go with the beat.
“Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”
That part of the song made me get back that dream again, to keep my faith, keep on hoping, keep on dreaming.

3. “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. As the title suggests, yes, song is about keep on fighting. That life can be cruel, you still have that “one match”, that string of hope that someday you will get through it pass that stormy weather of life.
“Like how a single word, can make a heart open
I might only have one match, but I can make an explosion”
People will try to pin you down with their harsh words, shake that confidence within you, but you got to fight those words, and never let any negativity eats your life, your passion.

4. “Ain’t no mountain high enough” by Marvin Gaye. The song tells me that someone out there will always be there, family and friends, those who truly cares. And that is what I did when I am down, I called one of my brother and he listened to me.
“Don't you know that there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby
Don't you know that there ain't no mountain high enough”
Seek help if you really need a hand. There is nothing wrong of admitting to yourself that you can sometimes don’t defeat every demons.

5. “Rise Up” by Andra Day. I learned about the song while I was checking some videos on facebook then I came across with this Filipino girl who is singing the song, suddenly I get this goose bumps while listening.
The song definitely a push to rise up after stumbling down and fall. Like a hand that will hold you up.
“You're broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry-go-round
And you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out”
