The recent outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in South Korea has fueled public anxieties and worries and has also taken its toll on economy and development of the country. People on the streets are wearing face masks, public transport is being disinfected and attendance at movie theatres has tumbled. Sales at high street shopping centres and department stores have fallen considerably. Many educational institutes have been closed temporarily. But neither the spread of the virus nor the panic among people has been checked.
