Introduction:
Man and woman are like two tires of a vehicle so to run a vehicle in proper way should give their rights. Islam is the first and only religion which gives proper rights and respect to women.
Women enjoy the right status in Islam. After the advent of Islam people began to value the women. The women also enjoy more rights at present as compare to past. Islam recognizes the position of woman to be the same as that of man. It claims that both came from the same essence. That is why they have same responsibilities.
Woman is a great gift of God. In a woman, we find three different personalities a mother, a wife and a daughter. Islam enforced us to give full rights to these three relations of a woman. The position of the mother is very much exalted in Islamic tradition. This thing can be noticed from this Hidth of our Prophet (peace be upon him) that “paradise lies underneath the feet of your mothers”. And about saying of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) is “the best among you is one who is best towards his family”. Similarly about a daughter the attitude of Islam is so great, before Islam people (Arabs) buried their daughters but Islam opposes this bad tradition.
The relation of husband and wife is in Quran (holy book of God) is define as single soul in two bodies. Islam defines that man and woman have equal rights upon each other but their duties and responsibilities are different from each other. Woman is the Queen of house. Her main and holy duty is to look after house affairs.
However Islam does not prevent the woman from serving in various institutions. They may work as a teacher, as doctor or nurse. Despite it, Islam has laid greater stress on the domestic duties of a woman. So they should not copy the western culture because the western women are envious of the status of Muslim women.
