Stay At Home Mom...Do You Still Look

Posted on at

I am a stay at home mom. I am also a grandmother. I worked for 40 years, in corporate America. So five days a week, I got up and fixed my hair, put on make-up, dressed and went out into the world.

When I first began staying home. I let myself go. I just wore whatever, rarely put on make-up and even stopped having my hair cut on time. The strangest thing happened. The worse that I looked, the worse that I felt. My attitude, goals and self-esteem took a nose dive. I looked like a slob, I acted like a slob.

When I realized the connection, I made some changes. I opted for an easier hairstyle that still looked "put together" but took little time and effort. I still reached for the jeans but I threw away the rags and opted for at least unstained, unripped, matching clothes even for the house. When I get up, I take the time to fix my hair, I put on the minimum make-up, and some earrings and perfume.

My point is, just because I stay at home, doesn't mean I have to let myself go. If you look better you feel better, if you feel better you do better!
