BUY ALL THE GAMES
We were for a pleasant surprise today when we opened up our Steam account, as the digital game distribution platform has announced that games in their catalog are now priced in Philippine peso. Even better news is that apparently the prices of the games (as well as upcoming games like Shadow Of Mordor) has been priced according to our territory, coming out cheaper than if you bought the games in other countries like the US.
This is a positive step in fighting piracy here in the PH, where many people still download pirated versions of games. While newer games usually retail at around $60 to $70, Steam’s price are considerably lower, which tells us that the company knows that we are a developing market and can’t afford games priced at a premium. Pre-purchasing Shadow of Mordor, for example, only cost Php 1,239, compared to the regular $49 (Php 2164) pre-purchase price for the PC version in other territories.
