Steve Jobs: 1955-2011 - Not the Story!

The dates do not tell the story. Steve Job’s impact and legacy will go well beyond the date of his passing. It is something most of us can be envious of, but regardless the benefits to mankind will be timeless even as new product lines replace old at Apple and beyond – Steve Jobs’ DNA is there now forever, in the products and culture. Below is what we wrote upon Steve Job’s retirement as CEO of Apple just a little over a month earlier. Technology into Art – Steve Jobs Legacy, by ambassador mo Posted on 25 August at 09:45 Steve Jobs announced his resignation from Apple last night - the mortal who made technology almost human. Apple was perhaps superior technology from the outset but what made it transformational is that it became an evolution in art. Apple had been around for many more decades than most technology companies, but it only made a breakthrough when via the I-Pad it became the music. It had already been perceived by many filmmakers and artists to have the superior systems for tasks as film edit and graphics. However, it was confined to a limited audience. Music finally made Apple the brand to be identified by the global consumer as both trendy and maybe not so much about computations but art. Art is in the eyes of the beholder, as is the often-repeated cliché. In the case of Apple though, it was the way for technology to breakout from the computer lab into the mindsets of grandfathers and hipsters. We can deal with art even if we do not always share tastes. It offers everyone the opportunity to be connoisseur or judge. Art is the new diplomacy. Just like spoken languages, art transcends the computer programing language (Basic, Cobalt etc) that were part of technology talk of the last century.
