The High Court has directed authorities concerned to prepare and submit reports afresh, mentioning the steps taken against those responsible for humiliating Narayanganj headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta.
The court sought the reports from Narayanganj deputy commissioner (DC), superintendent of police and officer-in-charge of Bandar police station
A bench of justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and justice Iqbal Kabir issued the order on Sunday.
The bench came up with the order after receiving reports from the DC, SP, OC and education ministry earlier today by deputy attorney general Motaher Hossain.
On 13 May, locals beat Shyamal Kanti Bhakta, headmaster of the Piyar Sattar Latif High School in Bandar area of Narayanganj for allegedly hurting the religious sentiment.
At one stage, local MP, AKM Salim Osman, made him do sit-ups holding his ears in presence of the local people.
The High Court on Wednesday issued a rule asking why legal action should not be taken against Salim Osman and others involved in the humiliation of the teacher.
