A Mirage 2000 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force test-landed successfully this morning on the Yamuna Expressway that connects the capital to Agra in Uttar Pradesh. The landing took place just outside Delhi and soon it took off again. it is learnt that the exercise was a part of trials to use national highways for emergency landings of fighter planes. Several Air Force personnel were present at the spot during the operation. However, the landing led to a traffic jam on the highway for a few hours.
