The Sully Plantation is located in the western part of Fairfax county, Virginia near Chantilly. Originally owned by the grandfather of Richard Bland Lee Richard built the main house during the time of 1794- 1799.

Richard was the first member of the first member of the House of Delegates  in Fairfax county in 1799 and previously serving  in this office in nearby Loudon county in 1796.

 

Richard Bland Lee was also the uncle of General Robert E. Lee. and was the younger brother of Major General Henry "Light Horse Harry" Lee.
