Photography is a skill and there are universities and colleges who offered a degree course in photography - a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Photography. Whatever way you may acquire it professionally, it serves the same purpose - producing an image.
In this connection, I'd like to commend a friend who successfully made photography a hobby into a profession and for being the official photographer of our group. ►Photographer
A photographer is someone who has an artistic ability or creativity that uses a traditional or digital camera that will create ways to tell a story using images.
Photographer specializes in different types of photography. A few to mention are Photojournalist or the news photographers illustrating events or stories in television and newspapers; Fashion Photographers are basically into fashion where the subject is a fashion model for a fashion magazine anything that is related to fashion. For the featured Photographer of this blog, he specializes in the event's type of photography such as baptism, pre-nuptial, debut, wedding, and birthdays.

A young enthusiast whose hobby is into photography and at some point turned it into a profession and making his mark as one of the Event Photographers in Cebu City, Philippines. Gradually, his work has been recognized by clients outside the country thus invitations from Dubai, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong are well served. He eventually got his own limelight by his own camera lenses when he tied the knot to his other half Joycee Abaquita. I can still remember the words he uttered for being the subject of his camera lens: "so this is how my client feels". Hahahaha...You will never truly understand what others feel until you're in someone else's shoes.
►Videographer
Joseph Bacalso is an Event Videographer who documents live events using various video recorder or camera video equipment that will create images and bringing out the vision of the event production where the final product is named depending on the type of the event. The type of events that Joseph covers are Engagement, Wedding, Baptism, Debut, and as I may include Travel events.
SUMMER HEARTFELT
Joseph doesn't only focus on photography alone, videography is also his genre even before he launched his own videography name. Just by the end of last year, Summer Heartfelt was born. It was named after his only daughter Belle Summer who is biologically made from the heart (Heartfelt). In the Facebook page of Summer Heartfelt, you can view all the same day edit videos and save the date videos that Joseph covered. Same Day Edit Videos
► are videos created and edited on the same day particularly in a Wedding event. These are footages of the couple prior to the wedding ceremony, on the wedding ceremony, and after the wedding ceremony and usually played during the banquet.
Save the Date Videos
► are videos that would give notice to the guests to save the date on your wedding day and formally invites the guests just like in a pre-debut and engagement photographs. Save the date video and photographs are great ways of telling your guests not to forget the IMPORTANT date.

First Week Old

This is the one and only daughter of Joseph Bacalso and Joycee Abaquita-Bacalso during her first week from the time she was born. It's a pre-christening photo session where the father won't definitely let it pass by without capturing his daughter's precious moments through his own lens.

Fortunately, this child has all the poses of her life. From the time she was born up until the time she grows up - "leave it to my Dad" as she may say. This is one of my personal best-loved photos of Belle Summer. Seeing through in this photo is the love and patience of a father waiting for that one precious moment from his own child and by seeing that smirk on her face, one snap is one precious moment that these parents can keep for a lifetime.
Christening

Part of every child's milestones is the Christening. A milestone where every child receives one of the Blessed Sacraments of the Catholic Church. This rite is to purify the infant from the original sin that passes through from generation to generation. Anointing the infant's head with water or oil and the invocation of the Holy Trinity is a way of welcoming the child into the Christian world. This photo is not by Joseph Bacalso because of his parental obligation during the baptismal rite.
First Out of the Country Trip

"The root bears the fruit" is the best description that I can write to this photo. Parentals of this child are both travelers so expect the child to be a traveler as well. Belle Summer's first out of the country trip was in Taiwan. For well-traveled parents, it is their dream to tagged along with their child to the places they want to travel. This is another milestone and it's one for the books for Belle Summer! Happy Kiddo!
First Park Visit

"Hala naka ari nako Japan ug kita nako sa Cherry Blossom pero Ikaw wala pa!" (Awww I've been here in Japan and saw the Cherry Blossom but you - you've never been here!) HAHAHA! That facial expression is what Belle Summer's bully face look is all about. It seems that this kid knows how to project when in front of the camera, maybe because it's her Dad who does the work. But I will give kudos to the mom for having a great projection talent. LOL! This photo was taken in Japan at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden during the Cherry Blossom watching.
► DEBUT
The prime specialization of Summer Heartfelt Joseph Bacalso Films and Stills are the Engagement, Wedding, and Debut events. One precious moment of being a girl is when you finally reached adulthood. Having a debut event is a way of telling the public that you have reached maturity thus your first appearance to the public is done through a Debut. If you hire a professional photographer for your debut event there is a pre-debut photo session just before the big announcement of your legality.

This photo is taken four years ago when Joseph Bacalso started his ball rolling in photography. It's a fairy themed pre-debut photo session in Camp Marina, Cebu. Just like in an engagement photo session this photo serves as a formal invitation for the guests to save the IMPORTANT date.

A save the date video of Jiselle for her 18th birthday. This is one of the film works of Joseph Bacalso taken four years ago. It's a fairy themed inspired video teaser filmed at Camp Marina where the surroundings and the ground perfectly matched the theme of the debutant and accentuates on the dress as well as on the other accents.
► ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION
The booking for the engagement photo session is made in a month or months before the walking down the aisle happen. The desired theme chosen by the couple has been set for the engagement photo session before it starts. These are set of photos taken of the betrothed prior to the actual wedding day. The photos during the engagement photo shoot can serve as a preview of what the actual photos of the groom and bride on the big event. It is also a way of getting to know each other between the couple and the photographer. The main purpose of this session is to let the couple feel comfortable when in front of the camera for a best wedding photo output on the wedding day.

Here is an example of an engagement photo session of the betrothed Jam and Matet captured by the photographer itself - Joseph Bacalso. One of the four out of the country engagement photo sessions. The location of this engagement photo session was held in Dubai. The bride is a flight attendant in one of Dubai's airline companies who is based in Dubai thus, the couple decided to have their engagement photo shoot be done in the Red Desert Safari of Dubai.
► WEDDING
Wedding photo session will start early on the big day or what we call the Pre-Ceremony Wedding photo session a few minutes or hours before the walk down the aisle. Other clients may have a checklist of how their wedding photo shoot be done. But as for some clients who've seen the works and read the reviews of the satisfied clients of the photographer they leave it all up to the man holding the camera.

As much as I'd like to use the photos of Jam and Matet's wedding but the unavailability of the wedding of the same day edit video isn't possible. Instead, I choose a photo and a video that was snapped, created, and produced by Joseph Bacalso. In this photo, the couple's wedding tagline is "I'm addicted to the way I feel when I think of you." Part of the wedding ceremony is to take the hand of the bride as soon as the parentals handed the hand of their daughter to the groom.

This is the same day edit video of Ralph and Angela or Gelai during the big event. The ceremony was held at The Archdiocesan Shrine of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In this video, you can see the pre-wedding ceremony, the wedding ceremony, and the post-wedding ceremony session. In this video, you will witness a happy vibe of the groom and bride as well as the entourage of the couple during the pre-wedding ceremony video and the emotional exchange of vows in the wedding ceremony.
► TRAVEL

There is nothing more precious for a photographer than to capture the life's precious moments of their loved ones. This is his other half and his only daughter in Japan at Lake Tanuki Forest during their business, work, and leisure trip. Travel events are not actually part of Joseph Bacalso Films and Stills specialization but it's too good not to share his travel works. Though there are some travel photos of Joseph Bacalso in my previous blogs that I gave credit to, it is still best to share a travel photo in this blog since this article is solely for Joseph Bacalso web page.

Photography and videography are just two of the most competitive career path in this era. Starting out is a bit challenging but once you've got the ball rolling, all is well and all worth it. Being a photographer doesn't rely on the best cameras, gadgets or high tech types of equipment alone. To be creative is one of the keys to photography and videography. It is how you let the people see a different world through your works. Work doesn't feel like work when you passionately love what you do. Sometimes people underrated the profession in photography such as the likes of "there is no money in photography" - but that is not the case of Joseph Bacalso. You see, any career field when your heart is not into it the work itself will never fulfill any of your dreams. Joseph Bacalso is one great example who passionately love his work thus the work itself is fulfilling him in a way that no other career paths can if he neglect to follow his heart.
