It’s scorchingly hot this summer, but unbelievably it’s snowing in Lake Tianchi in China ‘s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
In August, while many people are sweating in China, snow in Lake Tianchi is cooling locals off and adds a nice touch to the scenery in Xinjiang for the summer.
Net users looking at photos of this magnificent scene were surprised and had a hot discussion online.

The meteorological service explains that areas with high altitudes, like those in Xinjiang are affected by cold air, which brings in snow. The surface of Lake Tianchi is 1,900 meters above sea level, which is very likely to get snow even in the summer. (Source: Chinanews.com)
