Weaknesses:

 

v  Shortage if scientific staff at ARS Kohat.

v  Unavailability of scientific lab at ARS Kohat.

v  Out dated fix assets, and shortage of agriculture equipments.

v  Not enough farming area of crop field experiments.

v  Untrained and less skilled on field lower staff.

 

The low rate of generated income of last few years has many causes. Some of them are untrained and less skilled on field lower staff, which results in low productivity of experimental crops. This affects the overall results of that particular experimental crop and true and actual results never received.

The other major cause of low income of station is usage of outdate and shortage o agriculture equipments (machinery). Using this machinery never help to provide desire results of experimental crops.

Most of the allocated budget consists of staff salaries; therefore very low fund is available for purchase of modern agriculture machinery.

 

Opportunities:

 

v  Available collaboration with foreign scientific and agriculture research institutes.

v  Opportunities available to collaborate with fertilizer companies, pesticide companies and hybrid seed companies to provide information about the current experimented crops.

v  Interaction with farmers to inform them about the modern way of farming to increase their per yield crops productivity.

Collaboration is available with foreign scientific and agriculture research institutes to share the information about the experiments of crop dieses and productivity according to climate and area.

This share of information will help the fertilizer, pesticide companies to produce and design their material according to newly experimented crops, which will cultivated in all over the country.  

 

Interaction through seminars and through field days with local farmers for the purpose of informing them about the newly experimented crops and about the modern way of farming to increase their per yield productivity. This will ultimately results in good affect on the economy of country.
