Tahmina Kohistani an Inspiration for women in Afghanistan

Posted on at

During Taliban regime participation of men and women in many sports was forbidden and they tried to take people away from their interests but since the fall of Taliban everything has changed. Recently more women participating in various types of sports.

Olympic, an international considerable sport event which gather thousands of athletes all over the world and unified them under the five colorful flag is itself a symbol for equality, freedom and respect.

For Tahmina Kohistani as a sprinter girl from a country which always carries the words like: bomb blasting, attack, terrorist, corruptions and violence against women is an admirable step to be a in London Olympic.

Beside facing with many problems which she had while she was practicing inside the stadium to prepare for the event she believes that: ”There is always one person who has started the way. I thought if I stopped maybe whenever the other girls come they would also get stopped. I should face up to this problem and change something in my society.”

Building schools in Afghanistan and letting Afghan girls to access education will be another important step towards I can say educational Olympics which there would not be thousands even millions of Afghan girls who are participating and help the country towards freedom and equality.

Adding social and digital media with Internet classroom in Afghanistan schools will give a hand to have a better educational system in future. Also by giving computers to Young Afghans we will give them the chance to follow up  the news about their favorite athletes competition in Olympics and write blogs about them and eventually join no the virtual world but even sport grand as well.

However Afghan women needs more support in case of providing safe environment for them to follow up their own interested sport and gradually invite other women who are eager to have chance to be in a sport field while they are facing many threads and problems.
