Many women have different opinions on taking their husbands last name. Some women believe in the tradition behind it and that a family should all have the same name. Other women who may get married later in life and who have established themselves in their field of work would rather keep their own name because that is who they are known as. Other just don't want to deal with the confusion of going places with your husband and having different last names. Not one of these options is right or wrong but it should be the woman's choice on which way she wants to go. It is a different time and the man should not bully the woman into taking his last name because of tradition. She should be able to make her own choice and decide if she wants to change it. Another option of course is to hyphenate your name and get the best of both worlds...even though this may make your last name much longer!! I for one LOVE my last name and would like to keep it when I get married while Dana decided to change her last name. Regardless the choice has been ours and that is what is important! xx Love Mania
